Hollow core fibers for optically pumped mid-IR fiber lasers

Abstract

We report on demonstration of low-loss hollow-core fibers for the 3-5 μm spectral range formed from silica, and how they can be used to form the basis of a convenient, inexpensive and scalable mid-IR fiber laser.
