Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The letter reports very efficient Raman generation and polarisation switching effects in a high-germania-content optical fibre, with a small 2/μ2 core area. 10 dB Raman amplification has been observed in 5 m of fibre at a pump power of 2W. The Raman emission is only generated along the birefringence axes of the fibre.
