Abstract

Gamification has recommended itself as a powerful tool in many areas including knowledge management, and this paper is focused on the connection between a specific aspect of it, knowledge sharing and gamification. Grounded in data, this research offers a conceptual model of gamified knowledge sharing that attempts to explain how gamification facilitates knowledge sharing. We have found that gamification helps to create communities, expand networks and establish emotional connections, which in turn lead to increased knowledge sharing.
