Abstract

The heterodimetallic complex [(ŋ⁵-C₅H₅)MoMn(µ-H)(µ-PPh₂)(CO)₆], the structure of which has been established by X-ray analysis, reacts with dienes and with acetylene under photolysis; two of the products, [(ŋ⁵-C₅H₅(MoMn{µ-σ: ŋ³-CH₂C(Me)CHMe}(µ-PPh₂)(CO)₄] and [(ŋ⁵-C₅H₅)MoMn{µ-σ: ŋ⁴-CHCHCH₂CHPPh₂}(CO)₄] have been characterised by X-ray analysis and show unusual bonding modes for the organic ligands.
