Abstract

In this article general characteristics of oral extended release dosage forms are exposed, main interest is focused in factors that can modify the bioavailability of drugs included. Firstly chaotic situation of the terminology concerning these forms is analyzed. Advantages, drawbacks and choice of an adequate drug are also studied. Secondly main factors affecting drug absorption from these forms will be studied.
