Abstract
Risk-taking, adventure and creativity aren't always associated with scientific research, but a new EPSRC initiative, Student Futures, focuses on helping researchers at the early stages of their careers do just that. Lisa Sargeant, a PhD student at the University of Bath, took part in one of the first Student Futures events.
