Abstract

An error on the part of the authors in drafting resulted in Eq. (3) being incorrect in the published paper [Opt. Express 25, 20612 (2017)]. We present a corrected version of the equation. It should be noted that this does not affect the presented results or conclusions of the paper. Published by Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License. Further distribution of this work must maintain attribution to the author(s) and the published article’s title, journal citation, and DOI. 1. Erratum Equation (3) in our published paper [1] was incorrect. This equation should not have had a square root. Equation (1), below, shows the corrected form of this equation. The theoretically calculated data in Figs. 5 and 6 of the manuscript reflect the correct equation. Neither the results nor the conclusions of the paper are affected. (Formular presented) where Rc,l,m is the critical bend radius of the specific resonant bend loss corresponding to coupling between a specific core and cladding mode, dc is the effective distance between the core and the cth capillary projected onto the plane of the bend, while nl,m(λ)core and nl,m(λ)cladding are the effective indices of the specific core and cladding modes.
