Abstract

The integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) is transforming the healthcare landscape. This chapter provides an overview of how these technologies are revolutionizing medical services, from diagnostics and teleconsultations to patient engagement. AI's capabilities in machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics enhance diagnostic accuracy and personalized care. AI-driven systems can detect early signs of diseases like cancer from imaging data and support clinical decision-making. AR enhances medical procedures by overlaying digital information onto the physical world, assisting in surgeries. VR offers immersive environments for medical training, rehabilitation, and patient engagement, creating realistic simulations for practice and therapy. This chapter also delves into human–computer interaction methods, emphasizing the importance of designing user-friendly interfaces to ensure the effective use of these technologies by healthcare professionals and patients. Furthermore, it explores the ethical implications of AI, AR, and VR in healthcare, including concerns about patient privacy, data security, and maintaining high ethical standards. The potential for these technologies to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and overall patient experience in healthcare is profound. By integrating AI, AR, and VR, healthcare systems can achieve unprecedented advancements in medicine, driving more intelligent, interactive, and patient-centered care.
