Abstract

We demonstrate the first cascaded operation of integrated 4×4 hybrid MZI-SOA optical switches. Experimental studies emulate a 16×16 hybrid switch with 15dB IPDR for IdB penalty and 43% reduced power consumption than equivalent SOA-based switches.
