Abstract

This chapter outlines three institutional responses to the Covid-19 pandemic at a medium-sized research-intensive university in the UK. Firstly, the transition from emergency remote teaching (ERT) to a more considered hybrid pedagogy was of particular significance for an international taught doctorate with participants in many different time zones. Secondly, academic staff with different levels of experience were all affected personally by their experience of lockdown, so the chapter reports on the development of a tailored wellbeing programme to bring them together. Finally, the opportunities for new modes of hybrid working prompted innovation in the management and supervision of professional services staff in a particular faculty to maximise productivity and wellbeing.
