Abstract

Digital Architectonics is a term which refers to the application of digital technology to the architectural design process. This paper presents a new Digital Architectonics software tool, which allows various methods of 3D modeling, formfinding and optimization to be combined to generate and develop concept-and scheme-design options. The practical use of the software is demonstrated through the case study of the recent architectural competition to design a new hothouse for the Aarhus University Botanical Garden.
