Abstract

The dielectric pyramid antenna is a shielded form of the dielectric wedge antenna. It offers dual polarisation and beam and null steering, and a frequency span of 3.3 GHz to 8 GHz. It is of particular interest for use in GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) systems and may well find broader applications. There are four feed points, offering the potential to transmit or to receive on both polarisations, or to transmit on one polarisation and receive on the orthogonal polarisation.
