Demonstration of highly linear uncooled DFB lasers for next generation RF over fibre applications

Abstract

We show that uncooled directly modulated DFB laser diodes exhibit highly linear RF performance up to 85°C. These devices are found to be suitable for radio over fibre transmission of complex digital modulation formats.
