Abstract
The UK Government's Low Carbon Transition Plan (LCTP) outlines a number of national measures that central government intends to implement in order to reduce emissions across the UK and meet the targets set out in the first three national “carbon budgets”. A number of policies and programmes are also delivered at a regional and local authority level in the UK.
Carbon Descent has been commissioned by the DeCReASE partnership to determine the impact of the LCTP together with regional and local carbon reduction policies and programmes on the carbon emissions of the South East region. The analysis assesses whether a gap might exist between current national, regional and local policies and programmes and the South East Region‟s carbon reduction targets.
