Controlling the transmission bandwidth in all-solid PBG fibre through cladding design

Abstract

We demonstrate control of the spectral width of transmission window in a solid bandgap fiber by adjusting the sizes of the cladding elements in different parts of the cladding. We report on the differential spectral attenuation obtained and on the potential for all-fiber in-line bandpass filters.
