Contamination of oil palm pollen and seeds by Fusarium spp.

Abstract

Five Fusarium spp. were isolated from oil palm seed and pollen. F. solani and F. oxysporum were the most frequent and the 4 isolates of F. oxysporum tested were pathogenic to seedlings. The implications of pollen and seed contamination are discussed.
