Abstract

The drive towards accepting datasets as valid scholarly outputs, worthy of recognition and reward, has met with concerns about how to gauge the degree of their worth. While some kind of peer review seems the ideal solution, it is hard to make it scale to the volume of data being produced. This presentation introduces a planned new community-of-interest at CASRAI looking at quality metrics at the research dataset level, as a way of making the review process more scalable.
