Abstract
Mathematical expressions have been derived to show how the rate constant for the interfacial transfer of a solute between two immiscible phases may be found using a capillary diffusion technique. Laplace transform theory has been used to develop the equations, and theoretical concentration profiles illustrating the dependence upon the interfacial kinetics are presented.
