Abstract
As in previous years the chemistry of boron is somewhat dominated by the chemistry of metallaborane and metallacarborane systems, although areas of chemistry and chemoselective sugar/anion sensing boron-chalcogen complexes continue to attract more and more interest. Novel structures have continued to be the mainstay for boron chemistry, with over 700 structures containing boron (as a non-borate anion) being deposited with the Cambridge Structural Database in 2004.
