Abstract

The AEC industry has been facing a digital transformation for improving the efficiency of services involved in designing, building, and operating assets, fostered by two disruptive technologies: Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT). However, the literature lacks discussions regarding the integration and management of BIM and IoT-based systems. This Systematic Literature Review addresses this gap through search, analysis, and classification of 75 journal article abstracts published between 2015 and 2019. An increase of articles over the period is observed, predominantly with technical and processual solutions development. The interoperability of data is a key challenge to organizations.
