Abstract

A 10-Mb s-1 32-QAM signal on a 2-GHz carrier is transmitted at 850 nm over 600 m of worst-case 62.5-μm multimode fibre with low error-vector magnitude. The use of dual-purpose vertical-cavity devices allows half-duplex operation to be demonstrated over a single fibre.
