Abstract

A review. This article summarizes the synthesis of azepines and cyclopentazepines by ring-closure reactions, cyclization of azaheptadienylyl anions, deprotonation, ring enlargement, thermal isomerization of azaquadricyclanes, decompn., insertion and rearrangement of arenes, that was reported in the literature from 2003-2010. Reactions of these compds. such as rearrangement, tautomerization, halogenation, alkylsulfanylation, amination, alkoxylation, and substitution of activated organooxy groups were also discussed.
