Abstract

A part (2; 3) for use in a moulding apparatus, for example in a tablet press, comprises a shaped member (18; 21) which comprises zirconia. The part (2) may be a punch, which may incorporate in the shaped member (18) comprising zirconia a patterned surface for forming a complementary patterned surface on articles moulded in the moulding apparatus. The part is resistant to wear and enables well-defined embossed or impressed regions to be formed reproducibly on moulded articles.
