This article argues that all the controversy generated by the Mayor of Madrid's address to the Olympic Committee is misplaced: the Mayor's English may not be up to scratch, but we should be taking aim at the content of the speech and not her command of English. After all, Spaniards are not the best linguists despite years of school tuition in foreign languages.
