Abstract

The face‐capping carbene ligand displays a chairlike conformation and unusual side‐on bonding in the triosmium cluster 1. This air‐stable compound reacts in the presence of Lewis bases with atmospheric oxygen to form 2, in which the cyclohexadienone ligand is coordinated in a new mode to the Os₃ framework.
