A review of acoustic techniques for habitat mapping

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Habitat mapping has become an increasingly important application of remote sensing techniques in the last decade, and it has shown its economic, legal and environmental benefits. Underwater, habitat mapping relies mostly on acoustic instruments. This paper reviews the current status of acoustic techniques for habitat mapping. After presenting traditional acoustic instruments, it will present the new and emerging techniques for habitat mapping, and make recommendations for future uses.
