Abstract

The One-Drop-Filling (ODF) process for manufacturing liquid crystal cells can lead to alignment defects called ODF mura. We propose a theoretical model for the coalescence of droplets and elastic/inelastic deformation to the director structure during ODF to provide insight into the formation of ODF mura. © 2018 International Display Workshops.
