Abstract

A complete quadrature subcarrier system with 5 Gb/s throughput suitable for within-building multimode fibre applications was demonstraated. By using a 5.1 GHz pilot tone and referencing the data to a prescaled version of the carrier, a zero-latency synchronisation scheme was realized. The scheme was found to be scaleable to higher data rates and upgraded to existing infrastructure.
