Spousal positive crossover and spillover of emotions, experiences and cognitions.

Project: Other

Description

This project aims to understand how, and under what circumstances, support received at work from one spouse (spouse A) results in higher support received at home by the other spouse (spouse B), and to what extend this translates into emotional reactions of spouse-B at home that allow him or her to work more effectively and have a higher quality of life.
We study the effects in both directions, from spouse A to B and vide-versa.

With this study, we aim to understand (and empirically demonstrate) the extent to which support to a focal person at work has a positive (vs. negative) effect not only on the receiver of the support, but also on the focal person’s partner, and subsequently on the partner’s work and non-work quality of life.
