The placement at the Strategy Unit will provide experience of working close to the centre of government and give unparalleled insights into not only policy makers needs for research based evidence, but also of the likely agenda for future research. This is particularly important for social policy research in the current context of a rapidly changing economic environment where future policy problems and needs for strategic responses evolve rapidly. This opportunity will help consolidate the skills needed to support recent move from an economics department to working in a school of social policy.
