Project Details

Description

Bath & North East Somerset Council (B&NES) have declared a climate emergency, committing to carbon neutrality by 2030. In the coming months, they will introduce new Local Plan Policies addressing building emissions - some of the first in the world to require both net-zero operational emissions and capped construction emissions for new developments. This project will initiate a partnership between BANES and the university’s building carbon experts, who together will monitor, analyse and investigate the policy’s implementation and industry response. As well as supporting ongoing policy development, this will provide a unique and cutting-edge research study into carbon legislation.
