Research project in collaboration with the Swindon Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
This project would involve critically appreciating this novel and emerging research about Natural Capital and developing a framework that seeks to improve but is based on the existing methods, especially on the one used for Scotland. The framework would then be applied to determine the baseline value of Natural Capital for the area of Swindon and Wiltshire, followed by a discussion of how it could be used to inform future policy decisions. The results may be used by SWLEP to inform decisions in context of their Local Industrial Strategy and consequently lead to real world impact.
The project comprises a full-time PhD studentship co-funded by the University of Baht and SWLEP and an undergraduate research project.
