Project Details
Description
The aim of this research is to estimate the accumulative effect of millions of small changes to peoples homes to UK carbon emissions. It proposes a bottom-up aggregated approach, in which residents are empowered to make small changes to their homes, such as draft proofing or simple additions of insulation, complementing top-down deep-retrofit programmes. We will estimate the cumulative effect of these changes. We aim to empower, train and equip residents to make these changes themselves, tapping into local community know-how, building community resilience through an informal knowledge network.
