Project Details

Description

I worked as a postdoc on the research project “Dynamic and Adaptable Supply Chain Logistics System” funded by a supply chain service provider in China, YHGlobal, and partnered with the University of Cambridge. I managed to increase the order processing efficiency in B2C order fulfilment warehouse by developing an integrated order picking and packing method based on mathematical optimisation. A pilot was run to execute picking and packing in a real warehouse, resulting in 17-22% improvement in makespan, average order processing time, and total labour efficiency. The method contributed to both industry and academia, stimulating applications of my integration conception against single-process planning.
