Automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics dominate discussions of the future of work. It is already evident that this future work landscape will be one of glamour above and precarity below (Bulut, 2015). We aim to understand the hidden world of dirty work, defined as work that protects the wider company from filth and taint (McMurray and Ward, 2014)
