Description

In this project, we replicate the experimental validation of the Global Preference Survey (GPS) measures and its corresponding Preference Survey Modules (PSM). The GPS is now widely used in an extremely important research agenda of understanding the role of preferences in human behavior, and for the first time it allows such study on a global scale. However, the original incentivized validation was conducted using a single sample of undergraduates in Bonn. It remains an open question if such a limited validation justifies an extrapolation to the entire population across the globe. Recent papers from Iran and Kenya suggest that understanding of the survey questions may be context-dependent. Hence, we will provide a broader and more systematic validation in very diverse contexts.
