Funded by the Department of Psychology, this research is exploring interactions between four types of identities related to gender and feminism, and the salience of appearance-based gender stereotypes (versus counter-stereotypes) in predicting negative/positive body image, and engagement in a range of appearance-based practices (e.g., dietary restriction, over- or under-exercising, cosmetic surgery, tanning).
