Accepting Doctoral Students

Personal profile

Research interests

I am interested in applied analysis, in particular inverse problems, variational methods, mathematical imaging, and mathematics of machine learning. More information can be found on my web page.

Workshop announcement

I am organising the Second Workshop on Machine Learning in Infinite Dimensions to be held at the ETH Zurich from 8 to 11 September 2025 (together with Christoph Schwab, Siddhartha Mishra, and Matthew Thorpe). This workshop aims to bring together researchers that work on different aspects of infinite-dimensionality in machine learning. Topics include, but are not restricted to, Gaussian process regression, operator learning, function spaces of neural networks, and measure transport. Attendance is free but we ask all attendees to register before 15th June. Support for travel and/or accommodation is available for (a limited number of) PhD students and early career researchers based at UK universities. Application deadline is 1st June. More details on the web site.

The workshop is kindly sponsored by the ETH Zurich and the EPSRC Hub on the Mathematical and Computational Foundations of AI ProbAI.

Willing to supervise doctoral students

I am always looking for motivated PhD students. I can offer topics in mathematics of machine learning (analysis of neural networks, operator learning, neural networks for PDEs), inverse problems (regularisation, machine learning methods) and imaging.
