My PhD research focuses on the academic discourse socialisation experiences of Chinese international students who for the first time studying in the UK. In particular, my research investigates how these students engage in and negotiate their participations in oral and written academic discourse practices in a British university/context that is new to them.
This reflects my wider interests in applied linguistics and language education. I am particularly interested in the learning and socialisation experiences of language learners.
