Personal profile

Research interests

Broadly speaking, my work examines the things that influence our mental health, whilst also developing ways to improve mental health. More specifically, I explore the social, cognitive and biological processes that influence how people respond to and learn from the events in their lives, whether they are mundane every day experiences, negative or traumatic experiences, or positive or therapeutic experiences. Although much of my focus is on mental health, I am also exploring how similar processes can influence the way that people respond to and live with physical illness or trauma.
