Tim has been working in academia for 20 years and brings experience living and working in the UK, Asia and Africa. His first degree was in pharmacy and he is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. His PhD continued his Master’s research into tuberculosis patient adherence and over the last ten years, working in Namibia, his research has extended to infectious diseases and health systems strengthening in low- and middle-income countries, addressing global health inequalities through higher education including starting new training programmes. Tim has worked in secondary care and commissioning sectors of the National Health Service, and is a former Pharmacy School Head and Dean of health Faculty. Most recently Tim worked as Programme Director for Kaplan Open Learning, partnering with the University of Liverpool, to develop and manage online health programmes including the Master of Public Health.
