Research interests

Sophie completed her MChem at the University of Southampton in 2023, with her final project looking at the inhibition of glycosyltransferase enzymes in Streptococcus mutans to prevent oral biofilm growth and was supervised by Dr Seung Lee. She is now researching sugar-derived polymers for molecular recognition, sensing and catalysis as part of the Institute for Sustainability and is co-supervised by Dr Hannah Leese.
