Research interests

Dr Hussain was awarded a PhD in Medical and Molecular Genetics from Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London, before completing his postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge. His current research aims to understand how aspects of transcriptome malleability can shape biological outcomes such as those associated with inherited neurodevelopmental disorders. Molecular investigations in his laboratory currently centre on developing and applying Next Generation DNA/RNA Sequencing-based methodologies, while relevant transgenic models are employed for physiological in vivo studies.
