Teaching interests

Dr. Shaun Williams is a Senior Lecturer who joined the University of Bath in January 2009. He lectures on the BSc Sport Manangement and Coaching programme housed within the Department for Health.

Shaun completed his doctorate at the University of Bath and his research spans across different learning, education and coaching contexts. Specific research interests focus on ‘collaborative’ coach learning, coach education, the acquisition and transition of knowledge(s) to applied practice and exploring the implications of technology in high performance contexts.

Previously, Shaun completed a PGCE at St Luke’s, Exeter University and then taught Physical Education for five years. Shaun then moved on to coach rugby in an academy AASE programme (Bristol) whilst completing an MSc in Coaching Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University. During his time at Bath, Shaun has also been Lead Coach for the University rugby team. As an interdisciplinary scholar, his teaching and research interests are indicative of these ‘real world’ pedagogical experiences from which he explores a diverse range of pedagogical issues in a range of sporting contexts.

Shaun is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (SFHEA), an accredited RFU mentor, and a member of the Centre for Qualitative Research.
