Dr Shahd Al-Arkee is a Research Associate in the Rheumatology Research Group within the Department of Life Sciences. Her current research focuses on immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic disease, and other autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. She contributes to studies examining disease epidemiology, medication utilisation, and real-world health outcomes. Her broader research interests include digital health, artificial intelligence in clinical practice, and the application of real-world evidence to improve patient care and health outcomes. She has extensive experience in mixed-methods research, evidence synthesis, pharmacoepidemiology, and the evaluation of digital health technologies. Her research has been published in international journals and presented at national and international scientific conferences.
Dr Al-Arkee is also a Research Database Manager, supporting the management and analysis of large-scale healthcare databases, including the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), to facilitate high-quality clinical and population health research.
