Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Chartered Psychologist and Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. My current role, the DWELL Study, led by Dr Charlotte Dack and Dr Jamie Ross at Queen Mary University of London, focuses on co-creating and evaluating an evidence-based digital intervention for diabetes distress.

My PhD at the University of the West of England (2020) explored the psychosocial impact of Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes—heritable connective tissue disorders that can cause chronic pain and significantly affect daily life.

With a keen research focus on self-management, co-creation, and behaviour change techniques, I am particularly passionate about bridging the gap between research and lived experience, ensuring that those with long-term conditions have the tools and support to manage their health and mental health effectively.

Other responsibilities

In addition to my research, I am the elected chair of the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) Knowledge Translation Subcommittee, which aims to foster quick and effective implementation of evidence and guidelines into practice, improving the care of people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs).
