Research interests

Sanober Khattak is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Energy and Design of Environments (EDEn), currently using computer modelling and simulation towards reducing peak load and total energy demand in buildings in hot climates. Sanober has worked with Universities and the industry in the UK on several large European (FP-7 and H2020) and international (ZED-i, W-Tech) projects investigating resource efficiency in buildings and transport. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK, and previously served as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Mechanical Engineering at Coventry University. His research interests are in energy and resource efficiency within buildings, employing energy and exergy analysis. He is also interested in modelling material, energy and water flows to understand resource consumption and reuse within the context of circular economy, utilizing Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). This includes investigation of the food-energy-water nexus which is the interdependence of the three resources in many applications. Sanober was awarded a full scholarship to complete his PhD in resource efficient manufacturing from De Montfort University (UK), and has 10 peer reviewed research publications in international conferences and journals. Sanober  is  also  part  of  standards  creation  activity, specifically with the European standardization agency (CEN-CENELEC) towards a new energy standards for resource efficient manufacturing.
