Research interests

Robin is a PhD student working with Prof. Ventsislav Valev and Prof. Daniel Wolverson in partnership with Renishaw to develop advanced hyper-spectral microscopy techniques. Robin obtained his MSci degree in Physics at the University of Birmingham in 2012. During his undergraduate degree he was employed by the Nanoscale Physics Research Laboratory at the University of Birmingham to study atomic cluster source technology and implantation in graphite. He then did a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. After a postdoctoral role designing laser instruments, Robin worked as an engineering analyst in the defence and space sector. Robin has returned to Physics to pursue research with a wider global impact in the Centre of Photonics and Photonic Materials and the Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
