Personal profile

Research interests

A qualitative researcher with more than 25 year’s experience in the design and delivery of social research studies, I have been a Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy Research since 2018. Having spent the early part of my career in private sector consultancy work, after completing a PhD in 2016, my research has been undertaken within academic settings. My research explores the experiences, work decisions and employment behaviour of low-income people, examining themes of individual and intra-household financial management and decision making; financial insecurity and debt;  partnering, work-care and employment-related decision making in the context of the UK welfare system.
