Research interests
My principal research interests are in the Ageing, Social Mobility and Health.
The methods I use in my research work involve microeconometrics (applied data analysis).
My personal research has featured in leading international economics journals, the front pages of national and international newspapers and also in The Economist. I have contributed to multiple reports released by government departments in the UK and also international organisations such as the OECD.
Current research is in the areas of:
- Ageing and labour supply in the UK
-Wealth and social mobility in the UK
- The role of biomarkers in explaining socioeconomic outcomes
-Living standards among ethnic minorities in the UK

Teaching interests
I am currently Assistant Professor of Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Social Sciences at the University of Bath.
I am responsible for teaching and leading undergraduate and postgraduate modules in addition to carrying out academic research and scholarly activities.
